Blog November 5th Class

1) Today in class we...
Before our friends arrived, we played a name game and planned for the following weeks. Our class threw around the ball to help us learn each others names. Then a few minutes later, our friends, the OU students, arrived. Since we were already in groups of two or three, everyone were introduced to their buddy for the class. We went to the gym because he was interested in sports and rapping. Since we didn't have a place for him to DJ, the gym fit perfectly. We did a skit about being on time to your job and sleeping on the job. After finishing our little photo shoot, we went back to the room and turned in our photos. Then we wrote a story about our day in our groups and built a fort. There was a station to play with play doh but we never got to it. These stations helped us get to know each other and learn to work within groups to get a project done.

2) Describe your experience. What did you notice? How did you feel?
I, at first, was really nervous but I always get that way when meeting new people or getting tossed into a group to work with no real direction or introduction. But it was so awesome! I loved it. He was so talkative and fun. =)

Learn and Serve #5

So my last learn and serve was on October 30th. The day before Halloween. Which means, I have gone through another day in learn and serve where I watch movies and basically hang out with the students and teacher. I walked into the classroom and no one was there. I sat around for twenty minutes waiting for the class to get back from their Halloween activity in the auditorium. Then when the students returned, we handed out candy, played games, and then went over to the classroom across the hall and watched a movie. Half way through the movie it was time for me to leave. It was a nice relaxing spooky day before Halloween.

Quiz 8

Today in class we had a blast running around campus making and video after we warmed up with a fun activity. During this activity, we had to help write five stories about characters from She Stoops To Conquer. Our group laughed as we made our video. We had no complaints or disagreements as we created and revised the story.
I noticed that our group got along great and we all worked well together. We had no hard times making up the script or finding someone to volunteer to work on any section in the story.

I wondered what everyone else was doing and if our story was going to turn out like we want it to. Also, I wondered how crazy we looked as we made our video. I don't care in the least but I know at one point we screamed out, "Ewwww COUSINS!" While this one guy watched, he heard this and took off in the opposite direction. hahahaha

Next class, I'm looking forward to see how our video turned out and how everyone else did theirs. I bet that they are all great! :)
